A true lady fights with grace!
Jiu-jitsu was one of the best side quests I ever stumbled into. It taught me that fighting had more than one angle. I honestly never knew fighting to be anything outside of blatant force and attack. Everyone learns how to fight like a man. No one teaches you how to fight like a lady!
Typically in battle we aim to win by defeating our opponent.
A true lady uses her opponent to defeat herself.
Because that’s where the real wins lies.
In the scenic route.
But fuccccccck was that tough when our egos simply wanted the shortcut.
The quick feud.
A piercing verbal assault.
The action you know could cut a piece out of someone, forever.
When our opponents strike, naturally we wanna make them feel the same agony.
Waging our sovereignty for our battlemate to feel just a fraction of that pain.
But truthfully, you can’t be a lady, fight like a man, and win.
That isn’t your game, baby.
Our worlds just don’t work that way.
And any true lady doesn’t want it to.
She loves resting...peacefully in her heart center.
There’s no strike worth the grime that lingers once emotions have settled.
A true lady has a different objective in battle:
remaining intact.
Her losses are her wins.
She tucks each strike and allows what she now knows to heal the wound.
Have patience. Healing takes time.
Have a strategy. Guard yourself.
Have strength. Know when to cut your losses.
& most importantly, Forgive. Keep that heart space free!
A true lady shakes the hand of her opponent and bows gracefully.
Our wins are rarely obvious.
